The aim with our training is co-operation between dog and human, not blind obedience. All our training is reward based and non-violent. We believe we should respect our dogs enough to learn to 'talk dog', so that we can communicate better with them.
Choke chains and other painful and/or uncomfortable training tools are banned from our lessons.
Please read more about our Ideology and take a look at the testimonials from previous clients.
The lessons are held outdoors in a secure paddock in Ovington, Norfolk, IP25 6RZ.
Our lessons are held with small groups, ensuring the dog trainer has time to focus on and help each team (dog and dog owner) individually. The maximum number of dogs will depend on the type of lesson - Basic Obedience - max 6 dogs, Intermediate and Advanced Obedience - max 8 dogs, Search & Retrieve AND Tracking lessons - max 4 dogs, Agility AND Clicker Training - max 5 dogs.
I always encourage my clients to bring anyone who will be involved in your dogs training, including your children, partners, grand parents, etc. The only thing I ask is that you are courteous and pleasant to your fellow students, to the dogs and to me.
To make sure the lessons at DogBasics offer the right type of training for you, please come along and watch a lesson before you sign up. Let us know if you would like to come and watch a lesson and I will give you instructions on how to find us (and let you know if the lesson is cancelled).
Your dog has to be fully vaccinated, wormed and flea treated to join the lessons. If you bring your dog when you come to watch a class, you will have to show his/her vaccination card, so make sure to bring it with you.
We guarantee that you will get a very personal commitment from our dog trainer. As one of our clients you will be invited to reunion walks and other fun activities. All invitations are done via email.
if you need advice about your dog, please first check the Advice article section (links at the top of this page). If none of the articles cover the issues you are having, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with as much details about your dog and the problems you are experiencing, as possible. I usually need to know your dogs age, breed/s, where you got your dog from (breeder, friend, rescue, ad in paper, puppy farm), what brand food your dog is on, daily routine (number of walks, length of walks, time left per day), your family (how many people in your household and ages of any children in the home).
Please read our terms and conditions for the dog training classes and socials. .
