DogBasics
Day 2006
On
3 June 2006 we held our very first DogBasics Day in a meadow in
St. Paul's Walden, Hertfordshire. The sun was shining, the dogs
were energetic and everyone seemed to have a good time.
We
played games like Ball Bobbing where the dog has
to retrieve a ball from a bucket of water, Snaffle the
Sausage where the dog has to eat a row of sausages on
their way to their owners (harder than you think!), Best
Trick, Best Child and Junior Handler, Count
the Burns pebbles and Battle of Basics.
The
Battle of Basics is a test of all the basic exercises that the
dog owners should have learned from their DogBasics training -
sit stay for a minute, down stay for a minute, walking on a slack
lead amongst distraction, search out a hidden item and a trick
(their own choice).
We
also had Helen from ActivateYourDog.com bring
a lot of fun toys and yummy treats for sale from her specially
adapted shop-mobile.
Here
are some highlights from our day...
