About the DogBasicsTraining Lessons
Our dog training goal
The aim with our training is co-operation between dog and human, not
blind obedience. All our training is reward based and non-violent.
We believe we should respect our dogs enough to learn to 'talk
dog', so that we can communicate better with them.
Choke chains
are banned from our lessons. Please read more about our Ideology and
take a look at the testimonials from
previous clients.
Where are the lessons held?
Most of our lessons are held in a football field in Offley. Great Offley is a little village
situated between Hitchin (Hertfordshire) and Luton (Bedfordshire). Click here for maps and pictures of Offley and the training area.
How many dogs will there be in each class?
Our
lessons are held with small groups, so
you can expect a maximum of 8 dogs in the class,
ensuring the dog trainer has time to focus on
and help
each team (dog and dog owner) individually. We will try to match dogs that get on well together in each lesson. Smaller, nervous dogs in one group and bigger, boisterous dogs in another group.
Who
is welcome?
I always encourage my clients to bring anyone who will be involved
in your dogs training, including your children, partners, grand parents, etc. The only thing I ask is that you are courteous
and pleasant to your fellow students, to the dogs and to me. Children
are more than welcome.
Come and view a class first!
To make sure the lessons at DogBasics offer the right type of training for you, please come along and watch a lesson or two before you sign up. Let us know if you would like to come and watch a lesson and we will give you instructions on how to find us.
Will my dog need to be vaccinated?
Your dog has to be
fully vaccinated, wormed and flea treated to join the
lessons.
